Your Pastor...UnCloistered!

Hi everyone, I'm Will Robbins the pastor of the Abbey in Huntingdon, PA, and I welcome you to this little online space that I call "Uncloistered." A cloister is a word for a covered walk in a religious institution. Think convent, monastery, cathedral, college, and, of course, an abbey.  To cloister oneself, however, means to shut oneself in a room. Monks, nuns, and other contemplatives would cloister themselves in some part of their religious institution, trying to physically remove themselves from distractions in the hope that it would spiritually remove distractions as well.  To be uncloistered is to move in the opposite direction. Rather than turning inward, here, on these pages, I hope to turn outward.  May this outward turning help you along your journey.
